We like to start our business day with a caffeinated spring in our step here at The Branch Office. For any clients booking a full day package we offer complimentary coffee, from local barista masters at Amelia Coffee Co.
Meeting room hire
The Branch Office has a range of modern meeting rooms to cater for board meetings, body corporate meetings, presentations, client meetings and interviews.
We have six rooms available - five rooms on the ground floor (the larger room has wheelchair access) and one room on the first floor, with lift access available to the first floor if required.

Catering can be arranged on your behalf and we are proud to support small local businesses with our catering choices - Catering Menu
Full secretarial and virtual assistance, document production, proofing and printing services available on request at an additional cost.
Not the 9-5 type? We understand the way that many people do business is evolving. At The Branch Office we offer after hours and weekend hire by negotiation.
Cancellation fees may apply should you need to cancel within 48 hours of your booking. On the day cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full fee.

OUR ROOMS
Peter Mills BoardRoom
Our largest meeting room is named after Peter Mills, the celebrated Launceston architect/builder who designed and built our building in 1882 as his residence and business Mills Furniture Warehouse. It was known as Mills Corner. “Peter Mills was a very successful architect, and he leaves in Launceston many substantial monuments of his good taste. He was the first to deviate from the ancient style of square unornamental brick buildings in Launceston.” (Extract from Daily Telegraph obituary – Wed 9 June 1886, via Trove)

1/2 day (4 hours max) - $195

Ground floor room boasting a Tasmanian handcrafted messmate table and wheelchair accessibility. Seating for 8-12 people.

McARTHUR Room
Our newest meeting room, The McArthur Room, is named after our long term tenant Zach McArthur. Zach formed McArthur Financial in 2016 and has been an integral part of the fabric of our building ever since. McArthur Financial became Intend Financial in 2021 and is now our second biggest tenant.

1/2 day (4 hours max) - $150

A beautiful Tasmanian handcrafted table welcomes you as you enter this contemporary, spacious and functional meeting room on the ground floor. Filled with natural light this room is ideal for meetings or training sessions for 6-8 people.

Georges Lane Rooms
Our Georges Lane Rooms have been designed with privacy and confidentially in mind. The door that separates reception from these two rooms can be closed and they have their own street entrance and bathroom access.
Once inside the Georges Lane area, you can have complete privacy.
Georges Lane Meeting Room
Named after Georges Lane, the quaint laneway down the side of our heritage building in the heart of Launceston.
The laneway gives a modern inner city feel and this is reflected with the vibe and furnishings in this room. The ambience is comfortable and non-invasive so you can concentrate without distraction. A casual yet elegant ground floor meeting room with high ceilings, pendant lighting and feature acoustic panels.
HOURLY RATE - $75
1/2 DAY (4 HOURS MAX) - $150
FULL DAY - $210
Seats 4 people in lounge style chairs with round low-lying table – think coffee table style and relaxing conversations.

Georges Lane Boardroom
Past the gallery–style hung art and at the end of a charming hallway, you will find our Georges Lane Boardroom.
With two large windows, our contemporary boardroom is filled with natural light and warmth. With high ceilings, pendant lighting and feature acoustic panels the room is a perfect balance of function and design.
HOURLY RATE - $90
1/2 DAY (4 HOURS MAX) - $180
FULL DAY - $255
Seats up to 6 people around a handcrafted timber table – the natural edges and elegant chairs adding to the sophistication of the room. If coming armed with laptops and paperwork and needing space, this room is best suited for 4 people. For groups of 5 or more we recommend one of our larger rooms for your comfort.

Steele Room
MJ and SE Steele, the owners of The Branch Office at the time, purchased the building in 2002. They set about transforming the building by creating serviced offices on level 1 and the major renovation of level 2 to create two spacious inner-city apartments. They sold The Branch Office in 2016. Mike’s pride and joy in the building was the cellar, a room well below street level steeped in history and intrigue – if only these walls could talk.

Ground floor and perfect for interviews or as a small office away from the distractions of home or your usual business premises. A desk and small meeting table is available - seating 2 - 4 people.

Ridge Room
** Currently unavailable - tenanted as a Commercial Serviced Office **
This room is named after Mr Albert John Ridge, who served his apprenticeship in furniture-making and upholstery with Mr David Storrer in St John Street and later commenced business for himself in 1896 in our building, A.J. Ridge Furniture. Mr Ridge’s knowledge of antiques was outstanding and he was widely consulted. Mr Ridge's personal antique collection was extensive and valuable.
